Okay, so basically the end goal of any artist is to be able to make money doing what they do anyway. Are there any artists out there who have some advice for how I can go about doing that? I keep thinking commissions would be a good idea. I could draw up whatever for set prices. That's practice PLUS portfolio, and you get a nice little tip for doing it. I've always enjoyed making stuff for others, so it seems legit. Problem is consistency...

Here's the gig: I'm in retail management. I get paid crap and have to deal with even more crap. I don't much care for it. However, bills.... SO, I'm looking for alternative sources that I could get into. Basically, at this point, if I could earn an average of $500/month, it would ultimately be more valuable than going to that hell everyday and folding shirts. I think to myself, "that's not that much, man. Surely you could find a way!" So I'm reaching out to my fellow artists. Suggestions? Comments? Is there work to be had? Or is commission work the only way to go? Is it worth putting up a thing to DO commissions? What ground rules should there be?

Anyway, I've done this kinda thing before, but I'm just not entirely sure if there's something else I could get into. I know a friend of mine does tentacle porn art. Maybe I should do that. I dunno. HELP!!

Also: Thanks for the continued support, everyone! Work or no work, I will keep up doing what I love doing, regardless. I know there's plenty of others like me out there maybe wondering the same thing, or maybe could benefit from answers to this. That'd be awesome! Next cartoon short almost done...... back to work..

I just found you again on DeviantArt and quickly went to your YouTube and started watching videos, and as soon as I heard your classic announcer voice all I could do is smile like an idiot. I thought Project DCK had gone and died and I am pleasantly surprised that it hasn't. La la la la <--- my face

I'd spend hours on the project dck website playing the games, reading the comics, watching the cartoons and videos. I was 13 or 14 when I found the site through some forum on Gaia, and I was going through a rough time at home and it really meant a lot for me back then to have somewhere I could go to just laugh.

Keep on keeping on, man! Hug

It really makes me smile to see that you're still at it. I don't have time at the moment (I'm at work)  but when I get the chance I'd love to see all those interesting releases on youtube. I still have old recordings from WDCK Radio on my itunes, and it still makes me laugh !

Ha, that's awesome! I sadly no longer have any of them. Lost them in a hard-drive catastrophe, but I'm glad they can still bring you a smile haha. That's the idea, I think! Anyway, thanks for the support, can't believe anyone still pays attention to my shenanigans. So thank you much!

Ah yes, we all know those terrible hard-drive catastrophes. I lost my entire college animation final and all footage I had up to junior year once. Broke my heart. But life goes on, I guess!

So last night, I was cleaning through some old junk in my closet, and came across some old data dvds and an old hard drive. I popped that fucker in to see what was on it, and I found a goldmine of stuff from a decade ago. And alot of it was stuff of yours. I found a copy of the old drunk klunk flash game, some of the old music you did forever ago, and even a bunch of podcasts you were doing.

It was a really strange feeling to find all of this stuff, and I just looked back at it with happiness of the things that I enjoyed while trying to get through high school. I found a bunch of other stuff dating back to the early-to-mid 2000s with other flash artists of the time like Vinni Veritas, Nef, and gerkinman, and I had a wave of nostalgia come over me. So I popped on deviant art, and logged in for the 1st time in probably 6 years just to see if anyone was still alive and kickin'. Im glad to see your still doing your thing.

So Good Job Jordan Miller. Im happy to see that Cycon and DCK is still something, and that its a thing. Sincerely, Matt Dusza, a fan from the past.

Thanks, Matt. Yeah, still at it. So is Nef and Gerkinman, as far as I know. Not sure about Vinni, though. Anyway, its always nice to hear back from people who knew and supported what I was doing almost 10 years ago. I still dunno what the appeal was, but I'm glad you and a bunch of others took time to pay attention to me, haha.

I'm gonna keep trying to do stuff, despite it being almost a decade later. Hopefully, it gets better! Anyway, thanks for dropping by. If you get a hankering for more, check out the facebook and youtube pages I got set up! Other than that, keep on being awesome and take it easy, Matt.

Sincerely, Jordan.

I have recently started watching your shorts on YouTube and am a subscriber (under a different undername), but anyway I would just like to say thanks for the laughs and inspiring a young artist to want to become a animator even more.

Happy 2014

Hey, you're welcome! Thanks for watching and stuff, I'm glad to hear that another young animator is on the rise! Keep at it and you'll get there. I never even had formal training with animation, so if I can do it, anyone can! Haha, well.. anyway, thanks again man. You be sure to let me know if you ever have some stuff online that I can look it! I'd love to see it.

Take it easy!
