Okay, so basically the end goal of any artist is to be able to make money doing what they do anyway. Are there any artists out there who have some advice for how I can go about doing that? I keep thinking commissions would be a good idea. I could draw up whatever for set prices. That's practice PLUS portfolio, and you get a nice little tip for doing it. I've always enjoyed making stuff for others, so it seems legit. Problem is consistency...

Here's the gig: I'm in retail management. I get paid crap and have to deal with even more crap. I don't much care for it. However, bills.... SO, I'm looking for alternative sources that I could get into. Basically, at this point, if I could earn an average of $500/month, it would ultimately be more valuable than going to that hell everyday and folding shirts. I think to myself, "that's not that much, man. Surely you could find a way!" So I'm reaching out to my fellow artists. Suggestions? Comments? Is there work to be had? Or is commission work the only way to go? Is it worth putting up a thing to DO commissions? What ground rules should there be?

Anyway, I've done this kinda thing before, but I'm just not entirely sure if there's something else I could get into. I know a friend of mine does tentacle porn art. Maybe I should do that. I dunno. HELP!!

Also: Thanks for the continued support, everyone! Work or no work, I will keep up doing what I love doing, regardless. I know there's plenty of others like me out there maybe wondering the same thing, or maybe could benefit from answers to this. That'd be awesome! Next cartoon short almost done...... back to work..

Hey, all. I've been workin' on stuff again, really trying to get back into everything. It takes a lot more time and patience than it used to. Maybe I'm old, maybe I'm just putting more effort in, but either way, it's pretty tiring at times! Overall, though, I'm having a good time drawing all the Podunkton stuff again, planning and organizing, and getting to talk to other artists and enthusiasts like I used to do.

If you haven't yet, like the facebook page and pass that around. Obviously, there's not really much to show yet, but I'll keep adding stuff as I go. My plan is to stick with this project until I at least get a few solid things out, see how that goes, then maybe switch over to something new or something different, in general. Mostly, I just wanna get back to doin' stuff and having fun with it and hopefully I get to meet some cool peeps along the way, as well as connect with old friends!

For the moment, I'll be on here and Facebook. Probably gonna do YouTube if I can get some animating finished up, as well. That brings me to my next thought: should I have a presence anywhere else? When I was doing this stuff before, you had a website, maybe some portal sites, and so on, but the heavy hitters now are mostly facebook, youtube, and god knows what else. Twitter? Fuckin tweeting is for the birds... AWW HELL.... Anyway, any ideas?

Speaking of ideas, feel free to drop some input on what you might like to see. Obviously, this opens up endless possibility that I could never hope to do all of, but maybe music videos with the crew or fanart stuff or I DUNNO. I mean, I'm working on a bunch of stuff now, but I'd love to ACTUALLY throw some audience ideas in there, if I can. I just think it'd be fun.
